Luke Steele
Luke was born in Peterborough and raised in Glinton. He attended Glinton Primary school and then Arthur Mellows Village College , leaving with 12 GCSEs.
Luke was part of the Peterborough United FC youth setup and he signed a three year YTS. Aged 17, he signed professional terms with Peterborough United but he was sold a couple of months later to Manchester United FC for £900,000.
At that point in time, Manchester United were managed by Sir Alex Ferguson and Luke was part of the first team squad with players such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gerard Pique and many more.
Luke represented England at Under 17-21 level and has since played for Coventry City, WBA, Barnsley and Panathinaikos.
He now plays for Millwall (on loan from Nottingham Forest) and has over 400 professional games to his name.
During his professional career he has always had a passion for helping young people and he has regularly visited schools and been involved with community work.
In February 2014, Luke founded YDP alongside Luke Kennedy. When he is back in the UK, he will regularly visit schools that YDP work in and deliver assemblies, attend presentations and offer advice and guidance to the young people.
